MESSAGE FROM OUR BRANCH TREASURER AND PRESIDENT-ELECT:
Dear Seacoast NAACP Branch Members,
I would like to thank each and every one of you for having the confidence in me to select me to be your President for the next two years. I will try to fill the shoes of President Fred Ross, who did a spectacular job doing this work for 17 years. Our debt to his tireless service and sacrifice can never be repaid.
Let me first start off by asking for your prayers and your help over the coming months. We have a daunting task ahead of us, but with all of us pulling together I know we can get it done.
In that light, I already have an ask for all of you. As you may be aware, the Red Brick Church at 2 Spring Street in Exeter, NH, will hold a Dr. Martin Luther King Day Breakfast at 9:00 AM on Monday, January 16th in their community room. The room has a capacity of 130 people. In the past we have participated in the breakfast that was previously sponsored by the Holloway family. However, this time I do not want us to merely participate. I want us to be PART of this celebration. I want our Branch members to help cook the food, serve the food, be included in the program presentation and have a table set up for membership sign up which will include the history of the NAACP with our banner for everyone to see. I want us to be fully engaged in this event because I fully expect us to RUN this breakfast in 2018 !
We can do this. I would like each of you to contact 10 of your friends to tell them about the breakfast. The cost details will follow shortly, but it will not be too different than in the past. With two months notice we should have no problem filling the room with branch members. I will be forwarding more information about the breakfast, and I will be asking each of you to volunteer to help out in some capacity. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about this event, and once again thank you for your continued support as we move forward together.
